Private Training
Individual Coaching for Competitive Shooters
Private training gives competitive shooters focused instruction built around their current skills, goals, and performance.
Whether preparing for a first competition, working toward the next classification, or addressing a specific performance issue, the session focuses on the areas where individual coaching can provide the greatest benefit.
Who Private Training Is For
Focused Coaching Built Around the Shooter
Private training is for shooters who already compete, or who are preparing to enter practical pistol competition. It is especially useful for:
- New competitive shooters building skills and training habits
- Shooters working toward the next classification
- More advanced shooters addressing a specific technical or performance issue
- Shooters who want individualized feedback rather than a general group curriculum
Start With the Shooter
Most sessions begin with a brief assessment to identify where focused training is most likely to produce meaningful improvement.
If the shooter already has a specific goal or skill to address, the session can begin there. The focus may be adjusted when another supporting skill should be developed first.
We train toward the student's goals while working on the skills that support those goals.
What We Can Work On
Sessions are customized to the shooter and do not need to cover every category.

Private Training Format
Primarily One on One
Private training is designed primarily for one shooter so coaching can stay focused on that shooter's performance and goals. The booking client may bring up to three additional shooters, for a maximum of four participants. As group size increases, the amount of individual coaching available to each shooter will naturally decrease.
Four Hour Training Block
Private training is scheduled in four hour blocks so there is enough time to assess performance, work through priorities, make adjustments, and develop a plan for continued practice. The full block is reserved for the client, although training may conclude early if the session goals have been met or continuing would no longer be productive.
Leave With a Plan
Training Should Continue After the Session
Private training should provide more than feedback during a few hours at the range. When appropriate, the shooter will leave with a practical training plan based on the priorities identified during the session.
The plan may address:
- What to practice
- How to measure progress
- What to reassess as performance improves
The goal is for the shooter to understand not only what needs improvement, but what to do next.
Location and Requirements
Location
Fidelity Arms can conduct private training at appropriate ranges when arrangements permit.
No additional travel consideration is generally required for ranges within 30 miles of Nicholasville, Kentucky. For locations beyond that area, travel requirements may need to be considered when scheduling.
Requirements
Students should already be able to safely and independently operate their firearm and equipment in a range environment.
- Safely load and unload
- Draw from and return to the holster safely
- Follow range commands
- Maintain muzzle and trigger discipline
- Safely operate their equipment
This is competitive shooting instruction, not a basic firearms course.
